Our Series

"Film and Theology"- Do you like movies, and I mean good movies? So do I. The largest pulpit in our country today is that of movies. Writers, producers, and directors get to preach for 2 hours AND YOU PAY FOR IT. Every other Friday through the summer, we will watch some movies from the past year and discuss them in regards to entertainment value as well as what message is being preached.

August 27th, 6pm - It'll be a surprise... but you'll like it.

September 10th, 6pm - The Dark Knight

Film and theology is designed for movie lovers and adults...if you are a parent and plan to bring your kids you should check this out first: KIDS RATING. It starts at 6pm and you can feel free to eat your dinner here (just clean up after yourself). Also, the youth will be hosting a snack bar with candy, popcorn, and drinks (but cheaper than the movie theater).

Esther is an amazing book of scripture (like all books of the Bible) that relates brilliantly to our lives today. The book never actually uses the name of God from front to back but the God’s providence and sovereign hand is seen throughout, if you are looking. Esther starts out at a party and ends with a new Jewish festival...in the end we will see why God should be praised. As people we do crazy things, but God is always to be trusted because His vision is sure and secure. Knowing God has all things in His hands should allow us to practically live our lives in his name every day. The book of Esther is about: alcohol, women, suspense, sex, evil guys, more evil guys, the good guys (who look a bit like evil guys), death, destruction, mayhem, intrigue, revenge, holidays, the Providence of God

Ephesians is about about Jesus, as all books of Scripture are. Practically speaking Ephesians deals with the purpose of the church, it also speaks to every part of our lives (emotional, physical, spiritual, sexual), how to have a godly marriage, raise children, be a good employer/employee, it even talks about how to fight your real enemy and not your spouse. What better book to discuss as growing body of believes? Join us for this 19 week journey.

We all like stuff. We all seem to accumulate stuff. We have too much stuff. With Christmas around the corner we will take a 6 week look at the issues of our stuff in relation to how God views our stuff (it's all His). This is a topical, yet Biblical, approach to stuff.

The Kingdom of God is the most important subject Jesus ever spoke about; God's rule in the lives of men. The most important thing mankind seems to talk about is their own kingdoms, usually built on nothing that resembles God's. This six week series will look at the Kingdom of God and man-made kingdoms and how our sin creates systemic evil that can only be redeemed by the person of Christ.

A look at cultural movies, tv and books and the truth. We must be informed enough to not only know the truth about Christ, but to help people who have been drawn into the trap of today's movies, tv and books.

A proper focus for Spiritual Warfare is a focus on Jesus. We will look at truth vs. what the church is believing today.

We will walk through the book of John.
