When Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,” those words meant something in His cultural context. When Jesus and John the Baptizer said “repent,” it meant something in their cultural context. It is important for us to understand how we speak of God’s words into our current cultural context as well.
