Being a Pharisee, at one time, was a noble endeavor and a high calling, but today when we say, “Pharisee” it usually conjures up all sorts of negative images. In Jesus’ day the Pharisee were loved by the people for their commitment to God and country, but their passion for God caused them to become arrogant and prideful.
Pharisee University is our effort to teach you how to be a Pharisee if you want to be one, or hopefully, kill the attitudes in yourself when they arise. Pharisee University stinks (hence the PU); we are doing this series to reinforce to you the idea that it is not just about ancient Pharisees…but also people like you and me who fall into the trap of judging ourselves by our own standard and not God’s.
